Unique closed breed, created in 2004 in Masovia, Poland.
Currently located in South Hoof Peninsula.

The Faunus Sport Horse is a closed horse breed originating from Masovian regions of PolandThe breed itselfs comes from breeding various Sport horses with patterns acknowledged in their breed standarts to get most unique coats.

Faunus Sport Horse Breed Standard

AboutThe Faunus Sport Horse is considered one of the most versatile horse breeds in the world. The Faunus Sport Horse has been bred in the Masovian region of Poland since 2004. The breed founders were looking for the most unique markings resembling other wild animals. The founding breeds included Wielkopolski and Małopolski among others.The breed is known for its athletic ability and easy riding qualities, making it an excellent choice for show jumping and dressage competitions. There also have been no breed-specific health problems recorded.The FSH has two general types.

- Stock type
Body
The Faunus Sport Horse’s torso is remarkably defined for a horse with a long neck and muscular torso. The torso of the breed is long and muscular, and the head is wide and broad, with a large chest and a powerful neck.
This muscular torso gives the horse its distinctive look, making it an attractive and desirable breed. Their stocky build and strong legs make them a versatile breed.
Forelegs/ Hindquarters/ Hooves
FSH generally has powerful hindquarters. Their legs are dry with well muscled long cannons and good, clearly defined joints and tendons and hard hooves.
HeightThe horses usually stand between 15.2h to 17.3h {157cm to 176cm}Mane and TailThe FSH’s mane tends to be flowy and silky.
The tail is slightly low set, and also very flowy.
WeightThe average weight of an FSH is approximately 1250 pounds.StanceThe Faunus Sport Horse is to be shown in an open stance with braided mane. The tail may remain braided, half braided or left loose.The Faunus Stock Horse is to be shown in a square stance. Mane and tail may be left loose, half briaded(tail only) or braided.TemperamentThey are gentle, agile, talented, versatile, gentle disposition, strong and hardy. Aside from their physical characteristics, Faunus Sport horses are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and gentle temperament.MovementThe Faunus Sport Horse is a smooth-gaited breed that is versatile enough to be used for harnessed riding, therapy programs, and farm work. The FSH has excellent jumping skills and is extremely smooth to ride. They are ideal for both show jumping and dressage. Their agile gaits make them ideal for riders of all skill levels.Their high endurance makes them excellent for all types of riding.The FSH is a hardy, athletic and refined horse. Its smooth gaits and soft, easygoing disposition make it an excellent choice for sport and harness riding.BrandingFor the horse to be recognized as a FSH it must have at least one of the breed's original markings.
Each horse has a visible branding on their right foreleg.
BreedingTo be able to breed your FSH it must be registered in the official Faunus Sport Horse Breeding Book.
Every breeding of an FSH must be approved by the FSH Officials.
Breeding FSH with any other breed is considered a cross between the breeds and cannot have any of the custom FSH markings.
FSH that were bred outside of the Official Registration must be approved to the breed standard by the Officials.
Approved CrossesThe only approved FSH cross is a Faunus Sport Horse x Jorvian Spotted Sport Horse.Coat
Their coats come in various colors, dilutions and patterns.
The only banned coat colors are: Dominant White.
The approved coat color include all of the custom FSH markings and genes which include:
Bongo Bn or bn BnBn; Bnbn -> gene present
Duiker Di or di DiDi; Didi -> gene present
Okapi: on Ok or ok OkOk- Dilution appearing Okok- Markings with no dilution.
Panthera Pt or pt PtPt- Max panthera Ptpt- partial panthera
Marked Panthera Mp or mp MpMp; Mpmp -> gene present
Aardwolf Aw or aw AwAw; Awaw -> gene showing
Fallow Fl or fl FlFl- dilution present Flfl- no dilution present, only markings
Giraffe Giraffe gene is present only on chestnut base horses Gf or gf GfGf- none present Gfgf- none present gfgf- markings with or without dilution present (Gfd is a gene that causes the dilution)
Marked Giraffe Mg or mg MgMg; Mgmg -> gene showing
Zebra recessive gene, rare. Zb or zb ZbZb- no markings Zbzb- no markings, carrier of the gene zbzb- markings present
Marked Zebra, reversed paint is characteristic to this specific marking. Mz or mz MzMz- reverse paint and markings Mzmz- markings only
Orca Oc or oc OcOc; Ococ -> gene showing
